Meet the team

All our staff attend regular CPD courses in order to keep up to date with the continued progressions of veterinary medicine and give an advanced and comprehensive service to all our clients.

Vets


David qualified from London in 1990 and has spent the last 12 years working with family pets in the Leicestershire and Rutland area. He has wide experience of all disciplines of general practice and is keen to promote preventative medicine in pets.
David is Head Veterinary Surgeon and Partner of the Practice.



Sarah qualified from Cambridge in 2006 and has spent the last few years working in small animal and exotic first opinion and referral practice. She has recently gained the RCVS Certificate Advanced Veterinary Practice in Zoo Medicine. Her interest in exotic species started at an early age and prior to embarking on her veterinary degree Sarah studied for and gained a BSc (Honours) degree in Zoology. Sarah has travelled and worked at various Zoo's and Animal Park's in the UK, Australia and South Africa. Sarah has been involved with RSPCA rabbit clinics and was part of a first ever RSPCA reptile clinic. Sarah is a member of the British Veterinary Zoological Society and an advisor for the Invertebrate Health Working Group for British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquaria. She has a wide range of professional interests including exotic surgery and medicine and small animal medicine, especially endocrinology and dermatology. Outside of work Sarah enjoys walking her two dogs and travelling with the aim to see animals in their natural environment.




Kelly qualified from Dublin in 2004 before moving to Norfolk to work in a mixed practice. She moved to Lincolnshire in April 2011 and is studying towards a Cert AVP (Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice). She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine.
Kelly owns a horse, Captain and two rabbits.
You can make an appointment with Kelly on Wednesdays and some Friday afternoons.


Nurses


Jessica qualified as a veterinary nurse at the Royal College of Animal Welfare in 1998 and has been working as a vet nurse in and around the Stamford area for 16 years. She takes care of the day to day running of the practice. She runs regular clinics at the surgery and is happy to advise on all aspects of pet health care. She is the Practice Head Nurse/Practice Manager and Partner and has a keen interest in emergency and critical care. She will also become a qualified Pet Health Councilor in February 2012.
Her cocker spaniel, Oscar can be found at the practice most days behind reception keeping an eye on things.
Jessica runs a regular clinic on Monday mornings, 9.00am-12.30pm.


Emma has been nursing since 2000 becoming qualified in 2003 from The College Of Animal Welfare and has worked in this area all the time. She enjoys all aspects of nursing, never quite knowing what each day will bring! She has a fondness for the oldies; having 2 older rescue cats Angel and Ugly, childrens pets, Exotics and nutrition. She lives with her partner and 2 children in Essendine and her spare time is taken up with renovating her house and garden and relaxing with friends or with a good book!
Emma runs regular clinics on Thurday & Friday afternoons, 4.00pm-5.00pm.


Sarah is training towards an Animal Nursing Assistant qualification before going on to study Veterinary Nursing. Sarah travelled to Africa in 2010 for a 6 week volunteer programme working alongside game rangers; learning to track, identify and conserve the fantastic wildlife and beautiful landscape. Whilst there she also spent time at an Animal Rehabilitation Centre, helping sick, injured and abandoned wildlife which may never return to the wild.
On her return, Sarah realised animal care was her passion and began working with us as work experience before becoming a member of our team.
Sarah lives at home with her parents and the most important little man in her life, her Russian Dwarf hamster Stewie.


Receptionists


Elaine has been involved in the animal care profession for many years and is happy to advise you on all our pet health care products and accessories at the practice. She has worked as a volunteer at the Cambridge Cavy Trust (small animal charity) and her hobbies include horse riding, walking her dogs and helping on her family farm.



Julia is our resident Puppy and Adult Dog trainer who is on hand to answer any questions you may have about training and offer advice. She runs our free puppy parties at the surgery as well as her own Training and Agility classes.
