Puppy Packages

Ensure your puppy has the best start in life with our puppy package

Please note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are currently unable to offer our puppy parties. Please contact Julie Durrant at Stamford Dog Training for information on puppy training/socialisation classes.

Our team of vets, nurses & receptionists are committed to ensure your puppy has the best start in life and are here to guide you through the first few important months of their life.

Our Puppy Packages Include:

Primary Course of Vaccinations

We offer Lepto 2 & Lepto 4 vaccinations.

We recommend puppies are vaccinated from 6-8 weeks of age. The course consists of 2 vaccinations given either 2-4 weeks apart or when the puppy is 10 weeks of age.

Your puppy will then be vaccinated against:

  • Parvovirus
  • Distemper
  • Hepatitis
  • Leptospirosis

You will have a 20 minute consultation with one of our veterinary surgeons which will enable you to discuss any questions or problems you any be experiencing.

Yearly booster vaccinations will then be needed to maintain immunity. These appointments will include a full health check and give you the opportunity to speak to one of our veterinary surgeons about any problems that may have arisen over the past year.

Also, receive a voucher for 50% off kennel cough vaccines when given during your new puppy's primary course.

Kennel cough is a highly contagious disease of the respiratory tract. Dogs of all ages can be affected and signs include a harsh dry cough.

Dogs are at risk whenever they gather together (at boarding kennels, parks, training classes, dog shows).

The cough can last for some weeks and during this time more serious complications can arise such as pneumonia. Vaccination against kennel cough can be done at the same time as your puppy's vaccinations and is given via a nasal spray.

A Free Puppy Toy

Remember to always supervise your puppy during play time.

A voucher for £5 off Microchipping

ONLY £15.00 (Includes a collar tag & life long registration)

Please note: It has now become law that all puppies 8 weeks and over are to be microchipped and registered with the correct owners details.

Microchipping is a way of identifying your puppy. It is similar to a vaccination injection but it deposits a chip about the size of a grain of rice in the scruff between the shoulder blades. The chip carries a number specific to your puppy. This number is then registered along with your details onto a national database so that if your puppy is found and scanned they will be able to contact you straight away.

A Complimentary Puppy Wormer

As a caring pet owner, you’ll know that worms come with the territory, so worming your pet is important.

But why should you worm your pet regularly when they seem healthy?

Well, even without showing obvious symptoms, a pet without an appropriate worming treatment plan could be suffering from a worm infection.

Worms carried by cats and dogs can pose a health risk, not just to the pet in question, but to other animals, and to children and adults.

There are two worms in the UK carried by pets which can potentially cause problems in humans: Roundworms (toxocara species) and a type of tapeworm (Echinococcus granulosus).

Our Milpro/Endogard Dog Wormers will treat both round and tapeworms

How could my pet get worms?

Worms can be anywhere, outside or inside, as tiny eggs that are just waiting to be picked up and eaten by your pet. Worms are hard for your pet to avoid and pets can acquire worm infections from any of the following sources:

  • Contact with soil, grass and sand, such as in the park, garden or children’s play areas
  • Scavenging/hunting
  • Eating raw meat
  • Fleas
  • Eating faeces
  • Puppies and kittens are very commonly infected from their mother

Your puppy will receive a complimentary wormer at his/her 1st or 2nd vaccination. We would recommend your puppy is wormed monthly until they are 6 months and then every 3 months thereafter (unless our vets advise otherwise).

You are more than welcome to come down to the surgery on a monthly basis to get your puppy weighed and then one of our nurses/receptionists will work out the correct worming dose for you.

We also send out free text message worming reminders.

A Complimentary Flea/Tick Treatment

Fleas are blood-sucking parasites that can make life miserable for pets and their owners.

They can cause:

  • Intense itching and scratching which can result in hair loss and irritated skin
  • Flea Allergic Dermatitis - a very common and unpleasant skin condition caused by an allergy to the flea saliva
  • Tapeworm infestation
  • Anaemia in puppies and kittens

Your vet or nurse will give you a complimentary treatment for your new puppy.
You can prevent a flea infestation by the following these 3 easy steps:-

Step one: Use a reliable flea treatment and apply/administer it correctly. This will kill any adult fleas that jump onto your pet

Step two: Make sure ALL cats & dogs in your household are treated (they can all act as a host for a flea infestation)

Step three: Regularly vacuum carpets & furnishing and wash your pets bedding over 60 degrees (this will reduce the number of eggs, larvae and pupae in the environment). Also use a household insecticidal spray, (that kills eggs & larvae) This can be purchased at our reception (Indorex).

Unfortunatly, fleas are a very common problem and multiply in our homes very quickly. Prevention is definitely better than cure!
